Release notes

This build is version 1.7.1.

  1. 1.7.1

    2026-10-08
    • The answers about Enterprise say what is actually true: bulk access, caching and mirroring, and providing API access to your own users are included in the plan and governed by the Terms of Use, with nothing separate to sign. Volume above the Enterprise allowance is a custom plan, agreed individually.
  2. 1.7.0

    2026-10-08
    • Enterprise is now a plan you can buy from this page, at $299 a month or $2,990 a year.
    • The Enterprise card sets out what the plan includes: 100,000 requests a day, 1,000 a minute, bulk access, caching and mirroring, and dedicated support.
    • A new Custom plan sits above Enterprise, for volume and rate limits beyond it, priced to your usage and agreed in writing.
    • The questions and answers are fuller. They now cover what happens when you reach a limit, whether you can resell API access, what to do if you need more than Enterprise, and the limits for every plan including Free.
    • The commercial-use answer now sets out every limit on what a paid plan covers. Running a service that offers access to this data in competition with ours is not available on any plan.
    • Cancelling is described more precisely: your plan runs to the end of the period you have already paid for, so cancelling never cuts short access you have bought.
  3. 1.6.1

    2026-10-02
    • The home page now describes the plans the way the pricing page does: requests a day and a minute rather than a month, and Enterprise as custom volume with an SLA rather than unlimited.
  4. 1.6.0

    2026-10-02
    • The pricing page answers the licensing questions people were emailing us: whether you can use the API commercially, show the data to your own paying subscribers, resell or distribute your product, what Enterprise covers, and how to credit Bottle API. Short answer, on every paid plan: build your product on it, charge for it, and ship it.
    • The plan cards now show the limits that are actually enforced, a cap per day and a burst per minute, instead of a monthly figure. The daily allowance refills every day, so a busy day never costs you the rest of the month.
  5. 1.5.2

    2026-09-27
    • If you sign up with an address that already has an account, no new code is sent. The verification screen now says so and points you to signing in or resetting your password, instead of leaving you waiting for a code that was never coming.
  6. 1.5.1

    2026-09-27
    • Pressing Escape on the session warning now keeps you signed in, the same as the button does. It used to do nothing.
  7. 1.5.0

    2026-09-27
    • If a page ever stops working, you now get a message, a button to get back and a way to tell us about it, instead of a blank screen.
  8. 1.4.1

    2026-09-27
    • In dark mode, the "Are you still there?" heading on the session warning was pale text on a pale card and could not be read. The card is dark now, so the question is legible.
    • After your session ended, the sign in page could not be scrolled until you reloaded it. It scrolls normally again.
    • The session warning now takes the keyboard when it appears, with "I'm still here" ready to press, and keeps Tab inside it while it is up. Answering it puts you back in the field you were in.
  9. 1.4.0

    2026-09-27
    • Report a bug from your account menu. It picks up the page you were on, the version you are running and your browser, so you only have to say what happened, and it gives you a reference to quote if you email us about it.
  10. 1.3.1

    2026-09-26
    • The B above the sign in, sign up and password screens is a little smaller, so it introduces the heading underneath it instead of competing with it.
  11. 1.3.0

    2026-09-25
    • There is a bell in the header now, and a Notifications row in the menu on a phone. It tells you when an API key is within a week of expiring, which is the thing most likely to break something you have built without warning.
    • Opening a notice takes you to your account page, where you can extend the key.
    • Dismissing a notice clears it on your other devices too, not just the one in front of you.
  12. 1.2.0

    2026-09-24
    • The newsletter signup has moved out of the footer into its own section just above it, so it is easier to find and easier to read.
    • The Sign up button now responds when you hover over it.
  13. 1.1.1

    2026-09-23
    • The message shown after signing up no longer asks you to confirm. Nothing needs confirming: a welcome email simply arrives.
  14. 1.1.0

    2026-09-23
    • You can now sign up for the Bottle Blue newsletter from the footer, and on some pages from a small prompt that appears once and stays dismissed if you close it. Occasional updates about what we are building. Every email includes a way to unsubscribe.
  15. 1.0.0

    2026-09-20
    • The account dashboard is out of beta. It has been handling real sign-ins, API keys and billing for some time, and the version you can quote in a support request should not say pre-release.
  16. 1.0.0-beta.12

    2026-09-20
    • You can now change your password from the account page. It asks for your current password, so it is the right route when you know your password and simply want a new one. If you have forgotten it, Forgot password on the sign in screen still works the way it always has.
    • If your password manager fills the new password box with the one you already have, the form now says so instead of letting the attempt fail.
  17. 1.0.0-beta.11

    2026-09-19
    • Fixed a stray highlight line above and below the page content, most visible on a phone.
  18. 1.0.0-beta.10

    2026-09-19
    • The page no longer scrolls behind the menu or behind a dialog, so closing one puts you back where you were rather than somewhere you did not choose. This was particularly wrong on iPhone and iPad.
    • Screen reader and keyboard fixes: every page now has a proper main region and moves focus into it, so you are not sent back to the top of the page on every move.
  19. 1.0.0-beta.9

    2026-09-19
    • Resetting your password now checks the full password rule before sending, and both the signup and reset forms state the rule before you submit instead of only after a failed attempt.
    • Subscribing is faster. The Subscribe button no longer waits on a payment script to load before it can do anything.
  20. 1.0.0-beta.8

    2026-09-19
    • Tidied the spacing in the footer, and gave the fine print more room under the copyright line so it reads as its own group.
  21. 1.0.0-beta.7

    2026-09-19
    • The footer now says that payments are processed by Stripe and that we do not store your card details.
    • The footer also carries the notice about which addresses our email comes from. That line had been written for a long time and was never actually on the page.
    • The app switcher sits to the left of the Account menu, matching where it is in Apparatus Ready and Trackless.
  22. 1.0.0-beta.6

    2026-09-19
    • The sign in page's browser tab and search listing now read "Bottle API Keys and Billing | Bottle Blue LLC". They led with "Bottle Blue", which is neither the product nor the company name.
  23. 1.0.0-beta.5

    2026-09-19
    • An Account menu in the header, holding Docs, Account, Subscription and Sign out. The header used to be five links and a sign out all at the same weight; it is now the product name, Home, one menu and the app switcher.
    • The dashboard greets you for the time of day, and the line under it reflects the plan you are actually on rather than saying the same thing to everybody.
    • Sections of the dashboard arrive as you reach them, on the same gentle curve the company site uses. It stops entirely if your device asks for less motion.
    • Buttons and the footer icons now answer to the cursor.
    • The browser tab reads "Bottle API | Bottle Blue LLC". It used to say only "Bottle Blue", which named neither the product nor the company.
  24. 1.0.0-beta.4

    2026-09-19
    • The Bottle Blue mark on the sign in, sign up and password screens, replacing the Bottle API bottle. Two of those four screens were showing a different logo from the other two; they all match now.
    • The same mark in the header, beside the Bottle API name, and in the footer.
    • A new icon in the browser tab and on a phone home screen.
    • A sign in greeting that suits the time of day, in place of the one line that used to sit there whatever the hour.
    • Movement in the app now stops for anyone whose device asks for less of it. That includes the waving hand, which never stopped before.
  25. 1.0.0-beta.3

    2026-09-16
    • You can now find us on LinkedIn, X, Instagram and Bluesky. The links are at the bottom of every page.
    • The release notes page now reads as a page rather than as the file behind it, with each version and its changes laid out instead of shown as raw text.
  26. 1.0.0-beta.2

    2026-09-16
    • Automatic sign-out after 15 minutes of inactivity now works when the tab is in the background. The 60 second warning counted timer ticks rather than reading the clock, and a browser slows a hidden tab's timers to roughly one per minute, so signing out could take about 75 minutes instead of 16.
    • The footer shows which build you are on, and it links to this page.
  27. 1.0.0-beta.1

    2026-09-16
    • First versioned build. Everything below was already live and is listed here so the history starts somewhere honest.
    • Sign in, sign up, email verification, forgotten password and password reset.
    • API key management: create a key, extend it, and delete it. Deleting asks for confirmation first, which for a period it silently did not.
    • Subscription and billing through Stripe, including a link into the Stripe customer portal to change or cancel a plan.
    • Automatic sign-out after a period of inactivity, with a warning first, and sign-out in one tab signing you out in the others.
    • A launcher in the header for moving between the Bottle Blue apps.
    • Layout fixes for small screens across the sign-in screens and the API key table, including tap targets that were too small to hit reliably.
